Using Shut
- The free version of Shut is free to use, for yourself or for your work.
- Don't copy, resell, or redistribute Shut, and don't try to get around its license checks or interfere with our license server.
- Shut keeps your list on your computer. What we collect, and why, is described in the privacy policy.
What Shut can and can't do
Shut helps keep private details off your screen, but it can't promise to catch everything. It can't cover text in videos or PDFs, your browser's address bar and built-in pages, or other apps on your screen. Automatic detection can miss a detail or cover ordinary text by mistake, and revealing covered text shows it on your screen. Check what you're about to share before you share it.
Shut Pro
- Pro is a one-time $5 purchase of a license for one person. It isn't a subscription.
- A license key works in one browser at a time. You can move it to another browser, a limited number of times a month.
- Your key is yours alone. Don't share, sell, or publish it. We may turn off a key that has been shared publicly, resold, bought with a stolen payment method, or refunded.
- Pro is sold through Lemon Squeezy, which takes the payment as the seller and handles sales tax. Its own terms apply to the payment.
- All sales are final, as described in the refund policy.
- The extension checks your license with our server about once a day. If it can't reach the server, Pro keeps working for up to 7 days.
Changes to Shut
We may update Shut, add features, or change how features work. Updates come through your browser's add-on store.
No warranty
As far as the law allows, Shut is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, including that it will cover every private detail or work on every website.
Limits on liability
As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, including harm from private information that appears on your screen, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for Shut Pro.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them. Using Shut after a change means you accept the new terms.
